My History |
I received my B.A. in History with a minor in Journalism in 1984 from UMass Amherst. I studied and worked in journalism briefly at the University of Colorado in Boulder before returning to UMass, earning a M.A. in history in 1987. One final stint at UMass earned me an M.Ed. in moderate special needs in 1989. I continue to actively pursue my education through professional development opportunities.
I began my teaching career in 1987 at the New England Adolescent Research Institute (NEARI), an alternative High School on North Summer St. in Holyoke. In 1995 I began teaching at the Magnet Middle School for the Arts in Holyoke. After four years ending in 2006 at the Peck Middle School, I transferred to Holyoke High and have been teaching in the Social Studies department here ever since. |
